San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts will be the guest speaker at the next Encinitas Kiwanis Club's meeting. Encinitas Kiwanis is a volunteer organization which focuses on child literacy programs throughout our community and beyond. Captain Book and Kiwanis members have distributed over 75,000 books to Headstart schools, Camp Pendleton kids, and other children to promote the importance of reading and literacy.
Supervisor Roberts will speak about our community in general, but more specifically will address his plans for confronting the challenges and opportunities that will have an impact on our community now and in the future. There will be a question and answer period as well.
