Boy Scout Troop 2000 presents the 12th annual Haunted Hotel in the community of Olivenhain. The scare takes place in the two story, 127 year old, Hotel Germania, built by the colony’s original German settlers in 1885.
The hotel is located in the rural community of Olivenhain, just east of Encinitas - at the site of the old Olivenhain Meeting Hall, Rancho Santa Fe Rd., at the corner of 7th St.
The several haunted rooms of the hotel were designed and constructed by boy scouts, and all the house managers, actors, and guides are scouts or family members. There are two different scare levels – tame and scary.
New this year - no other haunt in San Diego has this set – Dr. Frankenstein's working laboratory, where guest will see the monster become alive.
The Haunted Hotel runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m on Friday & Saturday nights, October 26 and 27. Admission is $5.00 per person. Refreshments are available, a game carnival, and a large outdoor movie screen will show free Halloween cartoon movies.
A portion of the proceeds benefits the Olivenhain Town Council's ongoing restoration of the hotel.
