Recent figures estimate that over 200,000 soldiers per year will be transitioning from military life to civilian life. Approximately 10% of these veterans will be located in San Diego. Having a stable job and reliable income source is critical for veterans to successfully shift into civilian life. With an eye towards helping our veterans transition from a military career to a civilian career MiraCosta College Community Services and Business Development has developed several new Certificated Work-skills Training Programs this year. The aim of our new certificate programs is to offer practical, educational, certificated, workforce preparation, and internship training. These programs are suitable for all ranks of the Military and civilians with a special emphasis on providing courses that result in desirable, high paying, in-demand occupations. Programs such as an Armed Security and Protection Specialist, Scuba Dive Master/Instructor, and Facilities Maintenance Technician are just a few of the accelerated programs we offer.
