Horses of Tir Na Nog invites you to celebrate ASPCA Help a Horse Day!

Horses of Tir Na Nog, the oldest equine sanctuary in San Diego County, will be celebrating ASPCA National Help A Horse Day on April 26th and competing for a chance to win one of five $10,000 grants to assist with their efforts to continue to protect horses.

On Saturday, April 26, Simone, a buckskin mare, rescued from the brink of starvation by County of San Diego Department of Animal Services in 2008 will return to the animal care facility in Bonita to thank the staff that saved her life. She will be at the shelter from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon for community members to come and meet her and learn about her rescue story.

This event is free to the public. However, we are asking community members to donate a horse care item from our, “If Horses Had Wishes” Wish List. The list includes food, grooming supplies, and toys. Items can be dropped off at participating feed stores or brought to Animal Services’ animal care facility in Bonita on April 26.

The complete list of items and participating feed stores is on our web site, www.horsesoftirnanog.org.
