Summer Evening Walks at San Elijo Lagoon

As the sun descends over the ocean, some animals in San Elijo Lagoon emerge from daytime slumber. Explore the magic of the reserve in a guided pre-sunset walk along Santa Carina Trail. Enjoy the fragrance of sage scrub on warm evenings and listen for the call of the Clapper Rail nestled in pickleweed.

Summer Evening Walks are produced by San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy on 3rd Summer Wednesdays: July 17, August 21, and September 18.

All public walks are FREE. Additional guided walks occur on Saturdays (10 am) at San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center, and on 2nd Saturdays (9 am) on trails that are rotated each season throughout the reserve. For more information, visit SanElijo.org/Walks.
