Is Snacking Every Couple of Hours Healthy?

There is so much information at your finger tips regarding health and wellness, that it can become a bit confusing. The number one rule is to always listen to your body.

Some people consider certain snacks 'healthy', when these could actually be causing you more hunger.

Snacking is essential on an as-needed basis. Every day is different and life is dynamic and changing.

If you eat meals with the correct balance of macro-nutrients, you will feel sustained until the next meal time.

When you consistently need a snack between meals, a few different things could be happening:

1. Your blood sugars are too high or too low, which makes it very difficult to lose body fat.

2. Your macro-nutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fat) are imbalanced. The usual cause is low amounts of quality proteins and healthy fats during meals or the entire day.

3. Your digestive tract is not absorbing nutrients, leaving your body malnourished.

4. You might be bored with your diet and need more variety.

If you are more active and need more fuel, my favorite snacks include:

1. Green apple with almond butter

2. Protein shake with coconut milk

3. Cucumbers with hummus or guacamole

4. Raw goat cheddar slices

Happy snacking and enjoy.

The public deserves an objective, unemotional, factual public debate on this proposition. So far IRead More am still leaning toward a yes vote, but I am keeping an open mind at least through this month.

Yes, 'Batman'... that is forthright and possibly true, though still allowing "Ron' his impliedRead More submission to a partner. Not sure, where 'BA2' gains her insight based upon what you imparted... though more appreciate your than kind reply, to 'BA2's indulgence of probability. Not condemning or needing elucidation to the tragedy involving Aunt Judy, I offer a rather funny quip more akin to me... It's not an American problem - it's an Irish one. Not dominated by the affliction, As of Irish descent, I am always wary of the indulgence.

Yes, that and lots of other problems are less likely. I'm not implying, I'm saying it outright.

Batman, are you implying that with more male dominance in the home alcoholism is less likely.
