Art Saves Animals

Local artists and businesses come together to raise money for pets through the FACE Foundation's Artists for Animals Program.

Local artists and businesses are joining forces to raise money for pets needing life-saving veterinary care through FACE Foundation’s Artists for Animals Program. Dixiline ProBuild Miramar and Bill Collins Woodworking generously donated materials, time and their consummate skills to build 62 raised wooden dog and cat food bowl stands. Talented local artists are hard at work transforming these stands into functional masterpieces which will be auctioned off during the month of November.

When community leader Danny Salzhandler asked artist/graphic designer/illustrator Julie Ann Stricklin to participate, she jumped at the chance to express herself creatively while helping those in need during these harsh economic times. Julie Ann titled her piece “Feeding Frenzy.” She commented, “I wanted to show motion and activity in a surrounding that cats would enjoy. I wanted to use bright colors, textures and have fun painting freely, not illustrating, just flinging paint.”

Other participating artists include Donna Butnik, Cherry LaPorte Cohen, Bob Hord, Grant Pecoff, Connie Rawlins , Danny Salzhandler and Sheryl Tempchin.
