French Exotic in Encinitas

St. Germain's Bistro and Cafe Executive Chef Kaitlin Ramos will demonstrate french exotic cooking at the Encinitas Foodie Fest Saturday, June 23rd at Pacific Station.

A recent graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College of Culinary Arts, Las Vegas, 23 year-old Executive Chef Kaitlin Ramos of St. Germain’s Bistro & Café is turning heads with her explosive talent. Calling her cuisine French Exotic, Chef Kaitlin has infused St. Germain’s menu with fresh, complex flavorful dishes. Gone are the breakfast burritos. In are crepes, shrimp mango spring rolls and Banh Mi Burgers. The new dinner menu blends exotic flavors and spices of the east with sophisticated culinary techniques of the west highlighting the young chef’s promise as a stalwart of the San Diego restaurant scene. Viewing cooking as part science-part artistry, Chef Kaitlin deserves kudos for having the drive and the chutzpah to hold her own in the fast-paced, fast-charged male-dominated restaurant world.

Coincidentally, both Chef Kaitlin and her culinary inspiration, Chef Bernard Guillas, are providing cooking demonstrations at the upcoming Encinitas Foodie Fest Saturday, June 23rd from 10am-5pm at Pacific Station. In high school, Kaitlin interviewed Chef Bernard for a report on career options. Already passionate about cooking, she was so moved by Bernard’s enthusiasm that she chose to follow in his footsteps.
