From Tyranny to Liberty: The Fascinating Tale of Local Author Frank Iszak

Read the fascinating true life drama about local author Frank Iszak's captivating tale of escape from behind the Iron Curtain in the 1950s.

Born in Hungary in 1931, Frank Iszak grew up behind the Iron Curtain during some of the darkest, most desperate days in history. In 1956 together with six other young men, he orchestrated a daring escape by hijacking a commercial airline. Armed with cheap iron wrenches, the men were able to commandeer the plane and land in West Germany where they were granted asylum. Read in vivid detail about the harrowing adventure of his incredible real life drama in the newly released book, Free for All to Freedom. Frank’s motivation to write his biography was to bring oppression to light and reinforce the value of our all too often taken for granted freedoms.

Beautifully designed by mulit-talented local graphic designer and illustrator, Julie Ann Stricklin, Free for All to Freedom is available on Amazon. Julie Ann is also a well known fine artist who recently created a fabulous banner for the popular Arts Alive banner project.

Frank and his wife Serpil have also gained national recognition for their amazing work teaching free yoga classes to thousands of underserved seniors and the blind in Encinitas and throughout California.
