Ecke Ranch Plant Sale Nets $16K for Community Resource Center

Hundreds turned out for the annual fundraising sale.

Despite a few morning April showers, the Ecke Ranch’s annual charity plant sale raised $16,000 for Community Resource Center (CRC)—making it the second-highest fundraising figure for the event. Hundreds of locals turned out for the event April 14 to load up on the thousands of show-quality plants at below-market prices, and the greenhouse was nearly empty by the time the event ended.

Ecke Ranch showcases thousands of plants each spring to regional buyers, and then donates the material to CRC for the sale.  All proceeds go to CRC programs that provide vital food and shelter services for women, children, and families in crisis.

The plant sale at Ecke Ranch has raised more than $90,000 for CRC since the event started in 2007.  Paul Ecke III, owner and CEO of Ecke Ranch, along with his staff, worked his traditional all-day volunteer shift at the plant sale.  “

Giving back to the community is an important part of what we do here at the Ranch,” Ecke said. “This event supports much needed programs that change lives for the better in our community.”

Nearly 100 volunteers from Ecke Ranch and the community made the event possible this year. The annual plant sale is sponsored by Ecke Ranch and Weidner’s Gardens.
