Photos: Classic Rides Roll into Encinitas

The local tradition is 14 years strong.

Coast Highway 101 was lined with hotrods, woodies, and candy-colored drop-tops Thursday night for Encinitas Classic Car Night.

The Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet Association (DEMA) has kept the local tradition rolling for 14 years, and Thursday night, it was clear the event is as popular as ever. Checkout photos of some of the classic cars that drew crowds—and if you took any photos, add them to our gallery.

This free event happens June to September on the third Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 13).

The nights will include car clubs at six dedicated lots:

  • Charlie’s Foreign Car (F St.)
  • Cardiff Classics (I St.)
  • Encinitas Pizza Company (formerly Giovanni’s) will be sponsoring clubs at the Sofspra car wash lot (G St)
  • The Black Sheep (J St.)
  • Small Mall (E St.)
  • SMOG Test Only lots (F St.)

If you own a classic car and want to show off your stuff look for the special “Recommended Parking for Classic Cars” signs along the 101 and park your beauty in one of these prime curbside spots.

Encinitas Classic Car Nights are open to the public and free, including for those who want to display their classics.
