Raise your glasses wine lovers, because the San Diego Wine Show will be at the Del Mar Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday. Wineries from across the Pacific Coast will be pouring some of their best vintages for two days of wine tasting against the picturesque backdrop of the fairgrounds' Paddock area.
In addition to the wine tastings and appetizers, guests can enjoy live music, sommelier seminars and cooking demonstrations. Freemark Abbey from the Napa Valley and local Wilson Creek Winery from Temecula are just two of the 17 wineries that will be in attendance.
Saturday’s events will be open to the public from 2 to 8 p.m. and will feature a cork and platter seminar by Chef Maria Sparks and cooking demonstrations by the chefs of 25Forty Bistro and Bakehouse and Brigantine Family of Restaurants.
Sunday’s wine tasting will be from 1 to 6 p.m. and will have appearances by Rocky Fino, author of Will Cook for Sex, and a cooking demonstration by Will Burtner, sommelier at The Steakhouse at Azul.
Daily tickets can be purchased online for $55, plus a service charge, or at the door for $65. Only guests 21 years or older will be allowed in to the show. For more information, directions and full schedule visit the San Diego Wine Show website.
