Services Set for Tow Truck Driver Killed by Train in Cardiff

A remembrance gathering will take place Saturday morning and a funeral mass will be Monday morning. Both are in Lemon Grove.

Services for Shaun Riddle—the 27-year-old tow truck driver fatally struck by a train in Cardiff Dec. 8—will take place Saturday and Monday mornings in Lemon Grove.

Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary released the following information:

A remembrance gathering is set to occur 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary, 7387 Broadway, Lemon Grove.

The funeral Mass is Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove.

Riddle was apparently assisting the owner of a broken-down SUV just west of the tracks, when a southbound Surfliner train approached the intersection. Riddle got back into the truck to move it out of the train's path, but could not do so, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
