The Council of Community Clinics has received an award of $400,000 to help develop strategies to support the remaining uninsured of San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. The project is funded by a grant from The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF). Created in 1992 as a private independent foundation, TCWF’s mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention.
The Council of Community Clinics provides centralized support services to 16 member community clinic and health center organizations operating nearly 100 sites in San Diego, Imperial, and Riverside Counties. The mission of the CCC is to represent and support community clinics and health centers in their efforts to provide access to quality health care and related services for the diverse communities they serve with an emphasis on low-income and uninsured populations. Over 750,000 individuals count on the CCC Member Community health centers for their primary care needs through almost 2 million annual health care encounters.
