Photos: Car Plunges into San Elijo Lagoon

Officers and Firefighters responded to a car that veered off Manchester Ave. in front of Mira Costa College shortly before 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

Deputies and firefighters responded to a car that veered off Manchester Avenue in front of Mira Costa College shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday night.

The 2003 Ford Focus invovled in the crash missed a corner and plunged into the lagoon below, according to authorities.

Investigators say that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol and that he was only tired.

Fortunately, the man driving the car was able to walk out of the crash without any injuries.
