Cooking Classes Offered at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach

Have you been trying to cook more at home and make better food choices? Or maybe just tired of fast food and eating out?  There are other options! Hone your cooking skills by taking a few fun and informative cooking classes.

Since the Kitchen Witch closed in Encinitas in 2010 I (Phillis Carey) have moved my classes to a lovely new location--The Center for a Healthy Lifestyle located at the Solana Beach Boys and Girls Club on Lomas Santa Fe. The Center was renovated 3 years ago into a beautiful culinary arts center inside and outside it's a working garden.  The center is used by the Boys and Girls club to educate children about food--where it comes from and how to cook it.  Be sure to check out the garden, it is a delightful spot.

Inside is a full fledged teaching kitchen with tables and chairs and a mirrow over the teaching area.  In the evenings the Center turns into a Cooking School for adults. This summer's class topics include:  Tasty Burgers and Salads, Light and Healthy Summer Cooking, Spicy Summer Thai and more (see my full schedule at www.philliscarey.com.

My cooking style incompasses all walks of cooking from light and lean to a bit more extravagant for entertaining.  Whatever style you are looking for I am there to get you into the kitchen cooking with new ideas and recipes!
