Autopsy Pending for Cardiff Man Who Died in Jail

An autopsy was pending Monday on the body of a 21-year-old Cardiff man who died while in custody at the Vista Detention Center, authorities said.   

Deputies found Daniel James Sisson not breathing in his jail cell Saturday night, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.   

Paramedics were called but failed to revive Sisson, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:23 p.m., the Medical Examiner's Office reported.   

According to published reports, Sisson had been jailed nine days earlier on suspicion of drug possession.
