The public deserves an objective, unemotional, factual public debate on this proposition. So far IRead More am still leaning toward a yes vote, but I am keeping an open mind at least through this month.

'Jac' asks in a very backward way... Republican's - Do they think the E.R.A. is un-Constitutional?Read More Do they think at all? An obtuse non-sequitur, directed at and in back-handed way to the objects of his ire... equality for women is non-Constitutional and the ineptitude of proposing the ERA would have been un-Constitutional - on it's face. Do(R's) they think at all? Is 'Jac's normal bias and desire for acceptance of his liberal bent shining through? Many realize, 'Jac' loves to pull at the heartstrings to liberals of his bent, by posing "Republican's" as bogeyman. The fact is, Republican's hire women, support their wives in their ventures, build nuclear families and share duties in raising of children! Some say better, instilling the skills, expanding the abilities and adding to their life's tool-kit to face the world on their own! Like my father did. My mother, is a special forerunner of feminism within a nuclear family, one who had support from her husband to do as she was inspired... long before it was chic or made a wedge issue as 'Jac' evokes. She had four son's, practiced a self-made career and was not hindered in the pursuit. Dysfunctional families and members contained therein, can go astray or form contorted views of family life - carrying over to malformed ethics, political beliefs or perceived entitlement to do wrong in the extremes! I admittedly, was very lucky to have two parents in my life! I am not a large thinker, but I am a thinking Republican and have many friends who share my views. The narrow minded effrontery to frame the failure of the ERA on a political group is of course... very asinine, except it seems in California. Reading the Constitution and understanding it, is fundamental to commenting on it's beauty. Anything less, is a blackened doorway to disintegration of America. Try reading the document, before calling the kettle black. Cheers, 'Jac'.

'Batman' already mentioned the main inequality; Women have the grand privilege of choice for bearingRead More children. No matter how bad a man wants to become a father, it's up to some woman to decide to provide a child for him. Traditionally in our society, men are obligated to pay for dating and are expected to afford to provide for the family as women seek this economic stability in men, and will often dismiss a lesser paid man as a potential mate. Perhaps when most women are paying for everything or contributing equally while first dating, and continued into the relationship or when raising a family after marriage, then economic equalities will become more important.

Of course women don't have the same standing as men, they don't have the same hardware either. ButRead More they do have considerably more responsibility in our society. They are the ones who have the responsibilty and the honor of bringing new life into the world. And caring for and nurturing the babies and small children. Men can't do this, no matter how hard they try to act like women. Can you imagine a fella giving birth? Believe me, a fella couldn't take it. Can you imagine a fella breast feeding a baby? You have got to be kidding! Can you just imagine the jacked-up mess we'd be in if men had to do all this by themselves? We'd be extinct by now that's for sure!
