San Diego County sheriff's deputies Sunday sought a gunman who held up a Chinese food restaurant in Encinitas.
The robber, with a yellow bandanna covering part of his face, walked into the Golden Bowl at 1337 Encinitas Blvd. about 7:55 p.m., San Diego police Sgt. Pat Shannon said.
"The suspect motioned to the owner of the restaurant to lie on the floor," Shannon said. "The owner ran outside and screamed for help."
The robber cleaned out the cash drawer and fled, the sergeant said. He was described as a heavy-set Hispanic, about 5 feet tall and 20-30 years old, Shannon said. Apparently no getaway car was seen.
