DUI Task Force Nets 11 Arrests over St. Patrick's Day Weekend

The effort included a checkpoint off Olivenhain and Rancho Santa Fe.

The San Diego County Avoid Task Force manned a checkpoint off Olivenhain and Rancho Santa Fe roads last Friday and beefed up patrol throughout the weekend, resulting in 11 DUI arrests.

The effort was funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Transportation Administration. The grant, AVOID DUI, targets the entire county.

Due to Friday night rain, the checkpoint was closed and deputites broke off into saturation patrol around the county. Those patrols continued throughout the county Saturday night, too.
