64-Year-Old Man Allegedly Torches Car at Hotel

Man was reportedly upset about being evicted from the Howard Johnson inn on Leucadia Boulevard.

A 64-year-old man was in custody Thursday, accused of setting his vehicle on fire in front of a Leucadia hotel because he was upset about being evicted from his room, authorities said.

Jonathan Summers was arrested on suspicion of arson at the Howard Johnson at 607 Leucadia Blvd. about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Todd Norton.

No injuries were reported.

The reason for Summers' eviction was not disclosed.
