Encinitas Man Witnesses Aftermath of Car that Crashed into a Miramar Restaurant

Encinitas resident Dale Hauskins had just finished lunch at a restaurant in the Miramar area Friday around 2 p.m. when a car crashed through the front of the business next door, Surati Farsan Mart — sending a shower of shattered glass across the space and causing minor injuries to three customers. Hauskins was able to snap these photos just minutes after the accident happened. 

Authorities told Channel 10 News that the female motorist may have meant to hit the brake and accidentally hit the gas, but the cause is still under investigation. 

Though nobody was seriously injured by the accident, it was a close call, and Hauskins said “this is one of the reasons we say a prayer giving thanks before we have a meal.”
