Encinitas Station Sheriff's Deputy Recognized for Number of DUI Arrrests

Deputy David Toner has earned the "Outstanding DUI Officer Award" for seven consecutive years.

The San Diego Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) honored seven San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputies last month, including a deputy from the Imperial Beach substation.

Deputies honored with MADD's Outstanding DUI Office Award for arresting drunk drivers in 2013 were:

  • David Toner - Encinitas station - 142 arrests
  • Kenneth Werner - Vista station - 74 arrets
  • Rosa Patron - Imperial Beach substation - 67 arrests
  • William Price - Santee station - 53 arrests
  • Kristy Drilling - San Marcos station - 50 arrests
  • Austyn Elmone - Poway station - 40 arrests
  • Jerry Jimenez - Lemon Grove station - 28 arrests
The seven made a total of 454 DUI arrests in 2013.

The awards were given at Town and Country Resort & Convention Center on March 25.
