San Diego Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted kidnapping in the 500 block of Saxony Road in Encinitas in which an 18-year-old victim had to bite and punch assailants before being freed.

A pickup truck pulled along side the Hispanic female and a young thin white male—possibly a juvenile—exited and told her to get in, according to Sgt. Arnold Aldana.

The female refused the command and the suspect pulled her into the truck, he added. Two other males were in the truck. One was a heavyset Hispanic man between the ages 30 and 40. The other was a thin Hispanic man between the ages of 25 and 35, Aldana added.

The victim punched the driver and bit a suspect and she was released. She ran to a nearby home for help.

Deputies are describing the vehicle as an older black pickup truck with orange horizontal stripes toward the top of the fenders. The bed contained gardening equipment.
