Four-Car Accident Shuts Down Intersection of El Camino Real and Leucadia Blvd.

There were no life-threatening injuries.

Thursday just after 5 p.m. the intersection of El Camino Real and Leucadia Boulevard was shut for about an hour after a driver ran a red light, broadsiding three other vehicles.

The driver who ran the red light was travelling westbound on Leucadia Boulevard and collided with the three other cars travelling southbound on El Camino Real.

An 18-year-old male drive was taken by ambulance to Scripps Encintias with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies.

Sherriff’s deputies and Carlsbad police officers responded to the accident and directed traffic while the intersection was closed for investigation.
