San Diego Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man in connection with a stabbing early Tuesday morning.
Jeremy James Boone, 29, of Encinitas, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Vista Detention facility.
Sheriff’s deputies responded at 3:11 a.m. to a call of a woman screaming at an apartment complex at the 800 block of Regal Road, according to authorities. Deputies found a broken window and blood on the exterior of an apartment. They met Boone, the unit’s resident, who allegedly resisted being taken into custody. A deputy injured his hand in the incident.
Deputies later found a female victim at Tri-City Medical Center with a stab wound to her arm. Deputies suspect that Boone also threatened her with a handgun.
At the scene, police found a loaded handgun, some 14 ounces of methamphetamine, 6 ounces of cocaine and two ounces of marijuana.
Boone could face additional charges as the investigation continues, according to authorities.
