Man Shot in Leucadia

The shooting was reported in the 1500 block of North Vulcan Avenue at 10:25 p.m.

A man shot in the head Friday night in Leucadia is expected to survive his injuries, officials said.

The man was grazed by a bullet in the 1500 block of North Vulcan Avenue at 10:25 p.m., said Lt. Paul Robbins of the San Diego Sherrif's Department.

Witnesses reported hearing eight-10 shots fired, then screeching tires.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was in a parked car with others at a skate park near Sanford Street. Robbins said the victim suffered a minor laceration that was most likely caused by a small caliber handgun.

Officials said the incident may have been gang related. An investigation is underway.
