Man To Be Sentenced for Vehicular Manslaughter After Hitting Toddler in Encinitas

Sentencing is scheduled Thursday for Agustin Garcia Morales, who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter for hitting and killing a toddler in Encinitas last year.

The incident took place Nov. 1 on a driveway in front of his Encinitas Boulevard apartment. Morales was reportedly on his way to work shortly before 7:30 a.m. last Friday when his Toyota Camry hit 3-year-old Juan Andres Ruiz of Encinitas as the boy walked with his mother, who was pushing his sibling in a stroller.

The child wound up pinned beneath the sedan. Morales and a bystander pulled him out, and medics took the child to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

It's very, very sad, I can't imagine the pain the family is going through Ron ... I have absolutely no compassion for the person that did it ... who shouldn't have been here in the first place and shouldn't have been driving ..

I agree with Bryan--Jay and Sarah, you should be totally ashamed of yourselves.

The driver was here illegally, I'm not talking about the victim ...

You are not fooling anyone Jay. You are obviously more interested in attacking undocumented workers than feeling compassion for the dead child.

I feel compassion for the child, perhaps the child would be alive today if we had some control of our borders .. What about all the other people that lose their lives tragically at the hands of illegal aliens and we do nothing to stop it .. here is just a small sampling of the tragedies .. http://www.thesocialcontract.com/artman2/publish/tsc_23_1/tsc_23_1_gemma_2.shtml
