A motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a collision with a car near San Dieguito Academy.
The collision on Santa Fe Drive at Gardena Road in Encinitas occurred about 4:15 p.m., sheriff's Lt. Dave Brown said.
The victim, who was pinned by the larger vehicle for a time, was taken to nearby Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas for treatment of arm and pelvic fractures and an apparent concussion, Brown said.
