A motorcycle rider was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries Saturday afternoon following a collision with an SUV on S. Coast Highway 101, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The Nissan Pathfinder was attempting to make a U-turn in the southbound lanes in the 1300 block of S. Coast Highway 101 just after 3 p.m., said. Sgt. T.C. Yancey.
As the Pathfinder was making the turn, the southbound motorcycle collided with the SUV, according to Yancey. The rider was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
Traffic units from the sheriff’s Encinitas station are investigating the collision. No other details were released.
