North County Man to Face Multiple Sex-Abuse Charges

Daniel Roger Hood is accused of molesting a girl in Temecula and Oceanside.

A man accused of molesting a girl he knew over a two-year period must stand trial on multiple sex-abuse charges, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Daniel Roger Hood, 42, allegedly committed the acts in Temecula and Oceanside between 2009 and 2011, Deputy District Attorney Keith Watanabe said.

The defendant faces up to 116 years to life in prison if convicted.

According to evidence presented at a preliminary hearing, the defendant left his cell phone at his cousin's home in Norco, and the cousin looked at it.

The cousin viewed a video showing Hood sexually assaulting the victim and called police, Watanabe said.

The girl, now 10, disclosed the continued abuse at the hands of Hood during an interview, according to the prosecutor.

Following the preliminary hearing, Vista Judge Robert Kearney found that enough evidence was presented for Hood to stand trial on multiple counts of sex with a child under 10 and lewd acts on a child.

A Superior Court arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 2.

Thank God for the cousin, he probably saved her life and many other girls/boys..these monsters only get worse the more they get away with, and can never be rehabilitated. Their need is stronger than any fear of jail time..CHELSEA'S LAW.was passed over a year and half ago..prison for life for this crime. no plea bargaining is allowed under the new law, which is how many of these monsters got out and hurt or killed, like the one who raped and killed amanda and chelsea after he got out of prison in 5 years for raping a 12 or 13 yr old girl..he didnt want to go back after he raped amanda so he killed her, got away with it for a year so he did it again, to chelsea..the system and courts need to stick with the law. I cant believe the judge and attorneys that let him free knowing he raped a young girl, with fear, let him go free to walk around unaware and innocent future victims..he was on megans law list, but was no where near his home,,so if he had the ankle tracker on that all of them are required to wear, then the police would have known as soon as he left and where he shouldnt be..and that is the least they should have required...the police can only do so much, and do what they can, but they need the courts to make sure these monsters/predators stay in prison..and out of the the community..I mean would they let a tiger go free in the area to walk around freely while innocent people are just prey, and it's just a matter of time until he does it again, and again..he's free right
