Deputies Recover Gun in Encinitas Standoff

A gun was recovered and Sheriff's detectives today were investigating an early morning incident in which gunshots reportedly were fired at a residence.

"A call came in at 8:21 a.m. of gunshots being fired and deputies surrounded a house in the 100 block of Requeza Street," San Diego County Sheriff's Department Lt. Clayton Lisk said. "Residents were not being cooperative."

Lisk said the standoff lasted about 1 1/2 hours.

"Occupants of the home surrendered about 10 a.m.," he said.

Lisk said a firearm was recovered. The type of weapon was not identified, he said.
