Rain and Below Average Temperatures Forecasted This Week

A low pressure system south of the Gulf of Alaska is expected to move eastward over the next few days, bringing a chance of rain to San Diego County on Wednesday, meteorologists said today.

It also will bring cooler temperatures—about 5 to 10 degrees below average—and gusty west winds to the mountains and deserts, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency said the mainly light precipitation will be along and west of the mountains, and linger into early Thursday. A 10th or less of an inch is expected along the coast and up to a third of an inch is expected in the mountains.
