Sheriff's Blotter: Whole Foods Call Nets Two Alleged Burglars

Items of note from the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of Nov. 1, 2011.

Unless otherwise noted, suspects were booked into the County Jail in Vista.

  • Two men were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and conspiracy after deputies were called to the Whole Foods, 600 South Coast Highway 101 shortly before 10 p.m. Oct. 30. The suspects were identified as Donald Smith, 46, and Jesse Zarate, 25. An estimated $20 in liquor was reportedly recovered in the case.
  • Deputies arrested Jorge Lopez, 29, on suspicion of drunken driving and driving without a license in the 800 block of Mirada Avenue following a traffic stop at 12:32 a.m. Oct. 29. Jail records show he is currently the subject of an immigration hold. A court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 1.
  • A 45-year-old man identified as Raymond Blindauer, 45, was cited on suspicion of battering a 39-year-old man in the 6000 block of Paseo Delicias shortly after 11 a.m. Oct. 29.
  • Michael Hogan, 23, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop at North Coast Highway 101 and La Costa Avenue shortly before noon Oct. 28.
  • Deputies arrested Greg Paul Jameson, 41, on suspicion of possessing narcotics following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Encinitas Boulevard at 11:12 a.m. Oct. 27. He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing hypodermics, driving under the influence and appropriating lost property. Jail records show he is being held without bail on a parole violation, in addition to the above listed allegations. A court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 7.
  • A 24-year-old man identified as Chaves N. Smith was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism after causing an estimated $5,200 damage to a structure in the 100 block of Sunset Drive shortly after 3 a.m. Oct. 28. Three victims were named in the report, the City of Encinitas, Detour Salon and North County Health Services. Jail records show he is being held on $10,000 bail and a court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 1.
  • Russell Shirley, 21, was arrested on suspicion of battery after deputies were called to the 1900 block of Azure Way at 1:49 p.m. Oct. 27.
  • Deputies arrested Ymanolo Ibanezarguelles, 27, on suspicion of shoplifting after they were called to the Sports Authority at 4:40 p.m. Oct. 25. An estimated $90 worth of shoes were recovered, according to a report.
  • A juvenile was cited on suspicion of littering at Leucadia Boulevard at Quail Gardens Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Oct. 25. Deputies were initially dispatched to investigate a report of someone throwing objects at moving vehicles.
  • Paul Dolinsky, 25, was arrested following a traffic stop on suspicion of drunken driving, driving with a license suspended due to a prior DUI and violation of probation. The arrest was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Oct. 23 following a traffic stop at the Interstate 5 ramp at Leucadia Boulevard.


Vehicle thefts

  • 1100 South Coast Highway 101, black Di Blasi moped valued at $5,000.
  • 900 block of Encinitas Boulevard, 10:20 a.m. Oct. 29. Green two-door sedan valued at $1,000.
  • 1600 block of Neptune Avenue, 9:54 a.m. Black four-door valued at $8,500.
