Sheriff's Blotter: Burglar Targets Bottlebrush Place Homes

Items of note from the desk of the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of March 8.

  • Three separate victims in the 2100 block of Bottlebrush Place reported burglaries on March 7, according to reports at the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. A 49-year-old man reported the loss of a computer, camera, TV, video cameras and other items with a total value of $7,460. In a separate incident, a 68-year-old woman said a TV valued at $2,000 was stolen from a home in the vicinity. A computer was also reported stolen on the same block by a 37-year-old woman. The computer was valued at $1,500. No suspect information was reported in any of the cases. 
  • An estimated $1,500 worth of auto parts were stolen from a vehicle in the 2200 block of Manchester Avenue on the morning of March 7. The 27-year-old victim reported the incident via cellular telephone, according to a report.
  • Billy Archer, 38, was arrested on a felony warrant in the 500 block of La Costa Avenue on the morning of March 6. Authorities were originally called to the location around 9:30 a.m. after a complaint of someone being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The warrant was for a parole violation, according to the report. Archer was arrested without incident and booked into the County Jail in Vista.
  • A 51-year-old man was arrested on various allegations after authorities were called to a report of a disturbance in the 500 block of East Glaucus Street on the afternoon of March 6. John Jackson, who listed his occupation as director of audio-visual, was subsequently booked on four allegations at the County Jail in Vista, including willful cruelty to a child, two counts related to suspicion of drunken driving and driving on a suspended license, and an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • A 43-year-old man was arrested in the 1000 block of South Coast Highway 101 on the morning of March 6 after allegedly battering an officer. Troy Jordan was booked into the County Jail in Vista on the felony battery allegation, in addition to being drunk in public. The officer's name was not disclosed in the report.
  • Deputies were called to the intersection of South Coast Highway 101 at Chesterfield Drive during the early morning hours of March 5 after two people claimed they were assaulted. The two male victims sustained minor injuries in the incident, reported around 2 a.m. No suspect information was reported.
  • Rajander Philip, 59, was arrested on a felony warrant shortly before 5 a.m. March 5 after being stopped at a ramp approaching Interstate 5 at Encinitas Boulevard. The nature of the arrest warrant was not detailed in the report. Philip was arrested without incident and booked into the County Jail in Vista.
  • A vehicle was reported burglarized in the 700 block of Saxony Road on the morning of March 5. The 34-year-old victim reported the theft of a computer, ring, music equipment and other items valued at nearly $5,000. No suspect information was listed.
  • A 73-year-old woman reported the theft of her vehicle in the 1200 block of Caminito Septimo on the evening of March 5. The victim valued the green four-door sedan at $2,000. She also reported the loss of miscellaneous items inside the vehicle valued at $150. No suspect information was reported.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested after a battery report on the evening of March 5 in the 1500 block of North Coast Highway 101. Thomas Gallegos was arrested on suspicion of possessing a narcotic controlled substance and an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • A computer valued at $6,000 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Brighton Avenue on the morning of March 4. The 31-year-old victim reported the additional loss of a bag valued at $100. No suspect information was listed.
  • A car window was reported damaged on a limousine bus in the 700 block of Valley Avenue on the afternoon of March 3. San Diego Crawler Limo Buses valued the broken window at $1,000. No suspect information was reported.
  • Three juveniles were detained at the Target in the 1000 block of North El Camino Real on the evening of March 3. Thirteen miscellaneous items were recovered with a total retail value of $144.74. The juveniles were held on suspicion of shoplifting. The case will be handed via the juvenile court system, according to a report.
  • Boating equipment valued at $2,700 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Eolus Avenue on the morning of March 2. No suspect information was reported.
