Sheriff's Blotter: Hertz Vehicle Recovered, Man Arrested

Unless otherwise noted, all suspects were booked into County Jail in Vista

• Deputies arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of vehicle theft and recovered a Hertz rental vehicle in the 300 block of Encinitas on the morning of Aug. 11. The suspect, Michael Stahl, was arrested without incident, according to a report, and a gray, four-door sedan valued at $15,000 was recovered.

• Deputies arrested Kerry Urso, 35, on drug allegations in the 900 block of Encinitas Boulevard on the afternoon of Aug. 14, according to reports at the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. He was booked on a felony allegation of possessing controlled substances and misdemeanors of being under the influence and possessing paraphernalia.

• Elaine Maggard, 59, was arrested Aug. 12 in the 400 block of Encinitas Boulevard on suspicion of felony possession of narcotic controlled substances and controlled substances, and misdemeanor possession of parphernalia and being under the influence.

• Alan Buckley, 19, was arrested on a misdemeanor allegation of carrying a concealed weapon on the night of Aug. 12. The arrest followed a report of an armed suspicious person at East D Street and South Coast Highway 101. A handgun was recovered, according to a report.

• The Encinitas Union School District filed an embezzlement complaint with the Sheriff's Department on the afternoon of Aug. 11. The alleged offense involved $8,000 cash from Nov. 1, 2010, to Aug. 11 of this year at 100 Park Dale Ln. No suspect information was listed.

• Deputies cited an 18-year-old man on suspicion of furnishing a minor with tobacco in the 1300 block of Encinitas Boulevard on the afternoon of Aug. 10. Gerardo Martinez was released after receiving the notice to appear on the allegation.

• A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary after he was detained at the Smart and Final, 400 Encinitas Blvd., on the afternoon of Aug. 4. An estimated $22 was reportedly recovered during the arrest of the man, identified as Lawrence Dindial.

• Yuliya Lopareva, 18, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with alcohol in her system while still a minor. The arrest was reported at Beechtree Drive and Crest Drive on the evening of Aug. 6.

• 1100 block of Encinitas Boulevard on the afternoon of Aug. 13.

• 900 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive on the morning of Aug. 9.

• 900 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive on the morning of Aug. 8.

• 100 block of Quail Gardens Drive on the afternoon of Aug. 12.

• 400 block of west B Street on the afternoon of Aug. 8.

Petty thefts, purse snatch and/or shoplifting:

• 200 block of Saxony Road on the night of Aug. 11.

• 700 block of Calle Rega on the afternoon of Aug. 8.

• 1300 block of Mackinnon Avenue on the morning of Aug. 14.
