Sheriff's Blotter: Man Accused of Annoying Child

From the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of Aug. 2.

  • Deputies arrested a 47-year-old man after being called to investigate a complaint of a minor being victimized on the afternoon of July 25, according to a summary report at the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The suspect, Todd Calkins, was arrested around 1:25 p.m. at North Coast Highway 101 and El Portal based on a citizen's complaint. He was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and annoying and/or molesting a minor, both misdemeanors. The alleged offense reportedly occurred on West D Street around 12:15 p.m. No further details were released. The victim's name and age was withheld. No injury was reported.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after allegedly causing an accident that injured a 50-year-old man at Quail Gardens Drive at Via Zamia on the afternoon of July 27. The driver, identified as Aaron Laufer, was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of drunken driving that caused an injury. No further details were listed in the report.
  • A 57-year-old man was cited on a misdemeanor after a person complained of noise from his leaf blower shortly after 8 a.m. on the morning of July 31. The victim based his complaint on a city of Encinitas ordinance restricting the hours of operation for leafblowers, according to the report. The incident was reported in the 400 block of north El Camino Real. Thomas Dwyer was cited and released, according to a report.
  • Scott Conley, 37, was arrested after he allegedly struck two people during an incident reported in the 600 block of Sweet Pea Place on the morning of July 30. He was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of battery after allegedly injuring a 26-year-old man who sustained a minor injury during the incident, in addition to a felony allegation involving an unnamed victim.
  • Deputies arrested an unnamed minor after they were called to investigate a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of north El Camino Real shortly after 6 p.m. on July 29. The minor was booked into Juvenile Hall on an outstanding warrant and suspicion of being beyond parental control.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violating a court order in the 2000 block of Red Coach Lane on the morning of July 27. Koliah Brice was arrested on Urania Avenue and booked into County Jail in Vista on the misdemeanor allegation.
  • Melissa Hutsell, 22, was arrested on a misdemeanor battery complaint after deputies were called to the 1700 block of Swallowtail Road on the afternoon of July 24. The unnamed victim was not injured, according to a report.
  • A 23-year-old man reported being the victim of an armed robbery shortly after 2 a.m. on Saxony Road at Leucadia Boulevard on July 24. No injuries were reported. The man reported the theft of ID, checks and an ATM card. No suspect information was listed.
  • Deputies arrested Christine Limpus, 34, on suspicion of drunken driving following a traffic stop in the 800 block of South Coast Highway 101 shortly after 1 a.m. on July 23. She was also booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of violating probation.
  • Neckolaishen Adeline, 84, was cited on suspicion of battery based on a complaint by a 70-year-old man in the 800 block of Fourth Street on the afternoon of July 23. The victim had a minor injury, according to a report.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony assault in the 1000 block of north Vulcan Avenue on the afternoon of July 22. Deputies were called based on a complaint by a 62-year-old woman who was not hurt in the incident, according to a report. An estimated $1,000 in building material and other items was damaged in the incident. Romiro Mora was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism. The weapon used was not listed in the report.
  • Deputies arrested a 22-year-old man after he allegedly fired a shotgun in the 800 block of Stevens Avenue on the night of July 22. Timothy Triemer was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of a felony related to the alleged offense, and being under the influence of a controlled substance while possessing a firearm.
  • Jessi Vergara, 19, was arrested on misdemeanor drug charges after being stopped on Moonlight Lane at West C Street on the night of July 14. He was booked into County Jail in Vista on suspicion of possessing controlled substances without a prescription and public drunkenness.

  • 800 block of south Cedros Avenue on the morning of July 30.
  • 1300 block of Encinitas Boulevard on the evening of July 28.
  • 500 block of Arden Drive on the morning of July 23.

  • 2000 block of South Coast Highway 101 on the afternoon of July 31. Silver SUV valued at $20,000.
  • 1500 block of Rancho Encinitas on the morning of July 31. Black two-door sedan valued at $15,000.
  • 400 block of West D Street on the night of July 31. Black pickup valued at $12,000.
  • South Coast Highway 101 at Chesterfield Drive on the morning of July 15. Dark green station wagon valued at $10,000.
  • 200 block of A Street during the early morning hours of July 24. White four-door sedan valued at $2,500.
