Sheriff's Blotter: Target Thefts Result in Arrests

Items of note from the desk of the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of April 19.

  • Two men were arrested on suspicion of theft at the in the 1000 block of North El Camino Real on the morning of April 14, according to a report at the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The suspects are accused of taking numerous items such as video games, auto parts, clothing and cameras with a total value set at $4,875. The property was reportedly recovered. The suspects, Ricardo Juarez, 21, and Pedro Cruzenriques, 37, were described as members of a back room team, according to the report. They were both booked into the County Jail in Vista on a felony allegation of grand theft. Both are being held without bail and jail records show Cruzenriques also faces an immigration hold.
  • Deputies arrested a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of assault in the 200 block of Montgomery Avenue on the evening of April 15. Elvira Garcia allegedly assaulted a 58-year-old woman, leaving her with a severe laceration. An 88-year-old man was also allegedly abused during the incident. Garcia  was reportedly armed with a weapon or weapons described as resembling a club, blackjack or brass knuckles. She was booked into the County Jail in Vista on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and elder abuse.
  • A retired man was cited after reportedly exhibiting a deadly weapon in the 1100 block of Garden View Road on the morning of April 15. A citation was issued based on a complaint by a 27-year-old woman. Douglas Stark, 66, was released after the misdemeanor citation, according to a report. The weapon was described as being similar to a club, blackjack or brass knuckles.
  • A juvenile was arrested in the 800 block of Clark Avenue on an outstanding warrant on the evening of April 18. The juvenile, whose name was withheld, was taken to Juvenile Hall on suspicion of failing to obey a court order. The nature of the order was not detailed in the report.
  • Deputies arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving, among other allegations, following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Melba Road on the evening of April 15. Carlos Alva, who listed his occupation as landscaper, was booked into the County Jail in Vista. In addition to the DUI allegations, he was booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and driving without a valid license.
  • A small amount of cash and electronic equipment was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Hymettus Avenue on the morning of April 17. The total value of the loss was set at $210. No suspect information was reported.
  • A 69-year-old woman reported a vehicle burglary on the afternoon of April 15 on Tennis Club Drive. The victim lost a purse, ID and credit cards, mobile phone and other items with a total value set at more than $1,100. No suspect information was reported.
  • A vehicle was reportedly burglarized in the 500 block of Encinitas Boulevard recently. The 40-year-old female victim reported the theft on the evening of April 15. A computer and camera with a total value of $1,700 were reportedly taken.
  • A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 1200 block of Loch Lomond Drive on the afternoon of April 14. The 55-year-old victim valued the damage to the sedan at $100.
  • Joseph Bizzieri, 33, was arrested following a traffic stop at the intersection of Leucadia Boulevard and Orpheus Avenue during the early morning hours of April 14. He was booked into the County Jail in Vista on an outstanding warrant, in addition to suspicion of drunken driving.
  • A sedan was reported stolen in the 100 block of West Jason Street on the afternoon of April 14. The 51-year-old victim valued the stolen vehicle at $2,000.
  • A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving with a prior offense on North El Camino Real at Encinitas Boulevard on the afternoon of April 13. Procolo Playa, who listed his occupation as a cook, was arrested without incident following a traffic stop, according to a report. He was booked into the County Jail in Vista on suspicion of driving with a suspended license due to a prior DUI conviction, in addition to the new allegation.
  • A vehicle in the 400 block of Requeza Street was reported vandalized on the morning of April 12. The 56-year-old victim reported about $400 damage to a black pickup. No suspect information was reported.
  • A wheel was reported vandalized on a vehicle in the 1600 block of Burgundy Road on the morning of April 11. The 56-year-old male victim valued the damage at $100. No suspect information was reported.
  • Computer equipment was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of North El Camino Real on the afternoon of April 11. The 41-year-old victim valued the items at more than $200. No suspect information was listed.
