Update: Brothers Plead Guilty to String of Music Store Thefts

The duo robbed from several shops, including one in Encinitas.

Two brothers from Solana Beach who pleaded guilty to burglary charges in connection with a string of music store thefts are scheduled to be sentenced today at the Vista courthouse.   

Timothy Matthew Ferrara, 23, and Kristopher Robert Ferrara, 27,were arrested outside a CVS Pharmacy in the 600 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive the afternoon of Jan. 8.   

At the time, sheriff's authorities said the siblings made off with at least nine six-string and bass guitars, including models from Fender, Gibson and Lentz. They posed as potential buyers at music shops in Carlsbad, , San Diego, San Marcos and Solana Beach on various occasion in December to get access to the guitars, most of which later were recovered at pawn shops, authorities said.

According to jail records, Timothy pleaded guilty to felony first-degree burglary and felony drug possession, while Kristopher pleaded guilty to felony first- and second-degree burglary charges.
