Women Found Dead in North County Parking Lot Where She Worked

Pedro Rosalino Zurita was arrested and booked for suspicion of first degree murder.

A woman was found dead in her place of employment's parking lot in Carlsbad and a 49-year-old man was jailed today in connection with her death.

Someone called police shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday to check on a woman who had been working at a business in the 5700 block of Van Allen Way near Faraday Avenue in Carlsbad, according to the Carlsbad Police Department.

Arriving officers found the woman's body in the parking lot of a business park and determined she had been the victim of a homicide, police officials said.

Pedro Rosalino Zurita was arrested after authorities followed investigative leads and was later booked into the Vista Detention Facility for suspicion of first degree murder, according to police and jail records.
