Editor’s Note: The following is a news release from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG).

Construction is set to begin Monday, Jan. 30, on . This is the first of four planned pedestrian rail safety crossings planned in that city.

Most of the construction work is expected to occur on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Because this is an active rail line with more than 50 trains operating during weekdays, some of the construction must be done during off-peak hours on weekends and evenings. Construction crews will try to minimize noise impacts to residents and direct lighting away from residential structures to the greatest extent possible. Construction is expected to continue for nine months.
