Issa: Problems With Obamacare Website 'Simply Inexcusable'

Issa's House committee is investigating the launch of HealthCare.gov under the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

Technical problems that have marred the launch of the new government healthcare website were due to inadequate testing and are "simply inexcusable," Rep. Darrell Issa said in a message to constituents.

Issa, a Republican whose House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is investigating the launch of HealthCare.gov under the Affordable Care Act, reviewed findings in a blog post on his House website Friday.

"We now also know that the White House refused to heed warnings that extra time for testing HealthCare.gov was needed – resulting in a misfired launch with technical failures and glitches, leaving sensitive consumer data at risk through data hubs and exchanges.

"This is simply inexcusable...The American people deserve much better – especially when it comes to something as private and important as their health care decisions."

Californians interested in finding information on ObamaCare can find it on Covered California’s website.

Issa represents California's 49th district, which includes Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Camp Pendleton, San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and Ladera Ranch.
