Learn About the Ocean and What We Can Do to Help Save It

A local zoologist will give a free talk on the topic this week.

Oceans are an important part of our region, especially here in Encinitas. A at the Encinitas Library will teach about the health of these vital habitats.

Dr. Nigella Hillgarth, who hails as the executive director at Birch Aquarium of Scripps, will be speaking and giving a presentation on the health of our oceans. Hillgarth will discuss recent Scripps Institution of Oceanography research on several related topics, including climate change and ocean pollution.

This informative lecture is sponsored by the League of Women Voters and . Everyone is invited to come out and learn about the status of our oceans.

The free evening will begin at 6 p.m. at the Encinitas Library with refreshments and social time. The ocean presentation by Hillgarth will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
