Op-Ed: Thank You, from Your Next Encinitas City Councilwoman

A few words of gratitude from Lisa Shaffer.

I am honored to have been elected by the people of Encinitas to serve on the City Council. I ran my campaign based on hard work, telling the truth, and playing by the rules. I look forward to serving on the City Council in the same way. We have tough decisions ahead, and I am committed to ensuring that all our voices are heard as we move forward with updating our general plan and addressing other challenges.

Congratulations to Tony Kranz and Mark Muir on their election.  I’m confident they will serve the city well. I want to thank everyone who voted for me, and especially my family and all my volunteers. Many people opened their homes to host meet & greet events, others walked with me in neighborhoods across the city and stood on street corners waving campaign signs. This election showed that while we all agree that Encinitas is a great place to live, people want some changes in how we govern.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Encinitas.
