Sheriff's Department Accepting Cards, Donations for Injured Deputies

Two sheriff's deputies were injured in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in Encinitas.

The public can support the two deputies who were injured in an Encinitas shooting Wednesday by sending cards and letters or by donating to a relief account, officials announced.

Deputies Colin Snodgrass and James Steinmeyer were injured when they responded to an emergency call on Del Rio Avenue. Evan Kim Tian Kwik, who died after a 10-hour standoff from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, is suspected of shooting both deputies.
