Community Invited to Help Plant Trees at Paul Ecke Central

Volunteers and students will be working Friday afternoon.

In preparation of Earth Day, volunteers and students at Paul Ecke Central Elementary will be planting a batch of trees on the school campus Friday afternoon from noon until the job is done — and the community is invited to pitch in and help.

School district employees have dug holes for the trees along the south and west fences on campus. Volunteers will help plant trees with compost, add mulch and stake the trees. Organizers are providing shovels, and everyone is asked to bring gloves, wheelbarrows, and small trowels if they have them. If you’d like to lend a hand, head to school any time after noon today. Paul Ecke Central Elementary is located at 185 Union Street.
