Encinitas 4th Graders Raise Hundreds for Charity

Students from Capri Elementary held a garage sale Saturday and raised $425 for Voices for Children.

A small group of Capri Elementary fourth graders included philanthropy in their weekend.

The students held a garage sale Saturday raised $425 for Voices for Children— a group that provides volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates to abused children in San Diego County, according to Jennifer de la Fuente.

Her daughter, Anna, enjoyed the experience.

“I feel great knowing I helped hundreds of children in San Diego although I'm sad (the garage sale) is over,” she stated. “I definitely will be doing it again.”

A teacher who had told students that most people’s purpose in the world is to help people motivated Anna. Her mother helped her choose the charity.

Other students who took part were Nicolette Stein, Shay McGhee and Kate Glancy.

Hi Edward, I didn't hear any reports on the scanner or from sources of crashes, rescues or hardRead More landings.
