First and Second Degree Reiki Training will given on June 23rd and 24th from 9:00 am - 6:30 pm each day.  Training will be hosted off-site at Pacific Academy, 679 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA 92024.  The cost for each level is $275 or $500 if you sign-up for the entire training weekend.  For more information or to register contact Satya at:  satya@satshanti.org or (603) 493-3286 or www.satshanti.org.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique and spiritually guided life force energy. This time honored tradition of sacred healing  helps you to cultivate and rediscover your own innate healing abilities and can easily be learned by anyone.  Reiki is natural, safe in all circumstances and can highly complement any traditional or alternative treatment you may be receiving.

During this training weekend, both levels I and II will be taught.  First Degree of Reiki introduces the concepts and practice of Reiki for self-healing as well as treating others.  Second Degree of Reiki deepens this knowledge and amplifies the healing energy including ability to perform deeper mental/emotional healing and to send healing to the past and across physical distance.

SatShanti’s Reiki Training program is designed as a comprehensive training program to cultivate strong, confident Reiki practitioners and Reiki Masters. We not only provide solid teaching of both traditional Usui and Usui Tibetan Reiki techniques and teaching methods, but also full mentoring and community support along your training path and personal journey of spiritual growth and self-discovery.

All levels of Reiki training include instructional and hands-on application of techniques learned. All levels also include active discussion and application of Reiki as it relates to self-healing, stress reduction, personal and spiritual growth, as well as increasing spiritual awareness and intuition.

Training is lead by Tricia "Satya" Hurley. She has been practicing Reiki and Yoga since 2008 and is certified as a Reiki Master Teacher in Traditional Usui Reiki, Usui/Tibetan, and Karuna Reiki.  She is also a certified yoga teacher (RYT-500).   Tricia interweaves teachings and techniques, traditional uses and applications of Reiki that she has learned through three intensive Reiki master trainings, experiences in her private Reiki practice and her passion for yoga, spiritual living and healing, and the energy body.

The public deserves an objective, unemotional, factual public debate on this proposition. So far IRead More am still leaning toward a yes vote, but I am keeping an open mind at least through this month.

Thank goodness 'Jac' you are neither a Judge or member of Congress. The attempt at Ad Hominem isRead More appreciated however, true to your form. 'Grown-up' appears to be whoever agrees with you and not based in law or process.

Thanks for your comment, Frank. I'm certain you're not the only grownup reader of the blog - justRead More the only one so far. (At first, I thought some guys were putting me on; they have to be kidding.) You're right, of course, some Democrats voted against the E.R.A. for women. Shamefully, they and a majority of Republicans have defeated each attempt to pass the amendment so far. I still find it almost unbelievable that some of our neighbors think women do not deserve equal rights under the law. I thought that kind of thinking existed only in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and some backwoods places in Tennessee.

'Frank H. Robles', I emplore you from your inference, please quit treating women as 2nd classRead More citizens as your start, toward equal rights and improvement of your relationships to women. This act alone, renders bestowing inordinate Rights or extralegal treatment of women as a group - moot, and aligned with our(American) precepts - as it is wholly unneeded under our Constitution at this time - hopefully, for all time.

Thanks, Kyle for posting this. I'm not sure how things were in the past, but as a Patch editor, I'veRead More seen that blogging and engaging readers directly is a great way to market a book. Steve Repak, a financial planner with a military-themed personal finance book, blogs regularly on Patch and has recently been featured in National Media.
