St. John School Wins Big in Local Academic Decathlon
The team placed second overall and took home several awards.
St. John School in Encinitas placed second overall at the 16th Annual San Diego Diocesan Academic Decathlon Diocese, a rigorous competition for middle school (grades 6-8) students.
Eighteen schools from San Diego participated in the March 3 Decathlon at Mater Dei High School. Below are results from the competition:
Michael Hall: 1st Place in Math
Katarina Cohen: 1st place in English
Claire Burke: 2nd place in Literature
Patricia Rivero: 3rd place in Fine Arts
Abby Schlehuber: 3rd place in Current Events
Cole Parsons: 3rd place in Science
Molly Melican: 4th place in Social Studies
Team 5th place in Super Quiz
Team 3rd place in Logic Quiz
