Teachers from elementary grades through high school are encouraged to submit grant applications to financially support the creation and implementation of curriculum about San Diego County’s Special Districts.
The San Diego Chapter of the California Special Districts Association (SDCSDA)
represents Special Districts throughout San Diego County.
The SDCSDA Educational Grant Program is designed to promote the knowledge of Special Districts and their local form of governance to a greater number of students within a classroom environment. SDCSDA member agencies and affiliates have awarded in excess of $121,000 in scholarships and grants to students and teachers throughout the past eighteen years. In the last five years, over 1,700 students have benefited from SDCSDA educational grants.
Grant requests are not to exceed $1,000 but may be included as part of a larger grant request from other sources. Smaller than $1,000 grant requests are encouraged. Submittals will be evaluated based on the intent to help increase knowledge and awareness of Special Districts and their role in local government. The deadline for submitting a grant request is October 31, 2013.
